Speech From The Foundation’s Head Of Research And Development

Hi everyone, I am Mahedi Hasan and this is my story with Genesis Foundation. But just before I jump into details, I would like to express how I feel about volunteering and charity. I would like to give a reference from the Quran and that is, “Those who give, out of their own possessions, by night and by day, in private and in public will have their reward with their Lord.” (2:274). So as Allah SWT said, charity is rewarding and Allah SWT, Himself will reward us. If not more, at least for that reason, I think we should do charity frequently. And to me, volunteering is also a charity. To be very honest, I love every single volunteer who works for the betterment of others. Apart from the fact that Genesis Foundation is an NGO, it is also a part of my secondary school as almost every single founding member is from the same school I went to. And for that reason, I have known Genesis since the time it was founded. Although I haven’t joined from the beginning of its journey, I have noticed its struggles, seen its growth, and been happy for its success. I really envy all of my classmates who worked for Genesis because they were doing something I couldn’t at that time. All this time, they have made noticeable progress and shaped this organization into something beautiful, something to be followed, to be respected. The most favorite event of mine of them is called ‘বন্যার্তদের পাশে আমরা’ where they help the people affected by floods in every possible. It is really amazing to see them traveling to the flood-affected area with aid and then leaving the place with nothing but a handful of smiles in return. But, my wish to work with Genesis came true this year and I am really excited and hopeful about it. This year is really special for Genesis as they are turning 5 and planning to take the organization one step further to its ultimate goal. I will keep this secret from you all as a surprise and I am sure that you love Genesis as much as I do. So, I would like to request you all to pray for everybody in this world and wish us luck because we are going to fill the world with love. I am gonna take your leave for now. We, from Genesis, will be back with another story and It will be a better one, I promise! – Mahedi Hasan Head of Research And Development Genesis Foundation

Speech From The Foundation’s Head Of Internal Affairs

Assalamu Alaikum. I am Md. Jashim Uddin. I have been working with Genesis Foundation for the past 4 years to create a beautiful and loving world. I have had many experiences while working at Genesis Foundation. I have seen people’s sorrow, suffering, or helplessness very closely at different times. The story of some people’s helplessness is better than a movie. To tell the truth, most of the people in our country are living very poor life. I was able to hear their stories because of the benefit of working at Genesis Foundation Let me tell you a small story, one of the events was held at Mirpur-06 Islamia High School We did the event in winter “Pitha Utsav” was There we organize for about 150 people They were all slum dwellers We organized various Pitha Pulis Then some people told us “this is the first time eating so many pithas together”. Let me tell you another story from a few days ago. We went to “Mohanganj Upazila of Netrokona district” to give relief materials to the flood victims. The suffering of the people there was heartbreaking. Some people there told us, This is the first time someone has come to help us. We have been living very hard for the past few days with hunger I have many such experiences working with Genesis Foundation Besides, Genesis Foundation conducts various contemporary events and projects from time to time which deserves appreciation As for me, I consider the Genesis Foundation to be an important part of me I would say if anyone wants to develop humanity, then you work in Genesis Foundation or any social organizations. Those who are poor in the country work with people. He stands beside them in the sorrow of people. I get my soul satisfaction by working for the Genesis Foundation. I always wanted to work for the backward people of the country. Alhamdulillah, I can do that now through Genesis Foundation. At present, as a result of global warming, you know that disasters like floods, droughts, and land erosion have occurred in different parts of the country. Tree formation will play an effective role in preventing global warming. That’s why I want the Genesis Foundation’s “Green World” project. I will implement it on my own initiative. We will plant trees in different regions of the country under the “Green World” project. Besides, through Genesis Foundation, I will conduct various activities that will be good for the country and the people of the country. Finally, I will say that the Genesis Foundation works with the motto “Let the world be loving”. I will always be committed to making that happen with the Genesis Foundation. Best wishes to Genesis Foundation. – Jashim Uddin Head of Internal Affairs Genesis Foundation.

Speech From the Foundation’s Head Of Financial Affairs

My journey with Genesis Foundation is from the beginning of 2019. This journey with the Foundation basically started as a Campus Ambassador while our Genesis Foundation continues to expand its reach to reach out to people. The aspect of doing various social service activities of Genesis Foundation encouraged me to join the foundation. Also, I wanted to do something for the underprivileged people of the country. These are the two reasons essentially helping to kick start my journey with the Genesis Foundation. We often want to participate in various social service activities, but “how to do it alone or in what way?” In this dilemma, we cannot do service work. It was not different in my case. But when I joined the foundation and got to know some people of the foundation, it became possible to do all these works together with them in a nice and organized way. Since joining the Genesis Foundation in 2019, I have had the opportunity to work on several teams among which the blood management team, and public relations team are notable and currently I am responsible as head of financial affairs. In these few years, I have tried to participate in social service work according to the initiative of the foundation. Due to work, I have the opportunity to participate in various events directly and indirectly, which is on my favorite list. There is a tree planting campaign “Prithibir Praan Chai” event, the “Shit Hok Ushnotar” event to stand by the cold, “Alokito Manush” event to eliminate unemployment. Also, the Genesis FoundationWelfare has the opportunity to work with many people of good character. Although it started in 2019, I hope this journey will not end now. InshAllah, I will try to be associated with Genesis Foundation as long as possible and participate in service initiatives. Thank you. – MD M Rahman Head of Financial Affairs Genesis Foundation

As long as the world exists, there will be various problems. Will these problems be solved automatically? The answer is no..!! No problem will be solved automatically. We have to solve the issues. We have to deal with it. So how can we solve these problems? Probably the most straightforward answer is, working in an organized way. That is the goal of our foundation. We want everyone to work together. We want to engage ourselves in solving all the problems of the world. Maybe one day we will be successful, and that day the world will be just loving. – MD Rafij Khan Vice President Genesis Foundation

Speech From Foundation’s President

Infinite gratitude to the Most Merciful Allah for allowing a very small dream to last as long as 5 years. In this long journey of five years, some people have been able to smile but I believe that we have received the prayers and love of countless people. The story of the beginning of the Genesis Foundation needs to be told briefly. I have had a strong desire to work for social change since childhood. And from the place of that desire, I started some social activities by holding the hands of a group of young people with the intention of standing by the underprivileged people of the social work initiative. While doing the work, I felt the need for an organized organization. Genesis Foundation was established on June 13, 2018, from that need. The aim was to build a loving world. It is with that goal that the planning and execution of each event begin. Over the years we have realized that in order to play a role in social change, it is necessary to make changes in several areas. Enlightened Earth, Enlightened People, We Are Next to Flood Victims, Conscious Citizen Project, and many more projects. We are working on targeting important societal sectors through campaigns and events. In the upcoming days, we are giving special importance to the economic and social development of rural backward people, the mental health of youth, and their soft skill development. Also, we are always trying to give special importance to the skill development of youths associated with us. I feel it is our responsibility to do something for the volunteers whose hands are making the world a loving place. And from a place of responsibility, we are working specifically on the soft skills development of the youth through the Learn to Grow project. I believe that our dream of establishing a library in every village will be fulfilled one day, we can run to every helpless person and family with support. With the help of the Genesis Foundation, every village will be enlightened, thousands of people will be self-reliant, and young people will be skilled and aware. This can be carried forward with faith, trust, and dreams. We need every human being on this journey Love, prayers, and best wishes. -Shamsul Alam Rifat Founder and President Genesis Foundation.

There is no harm in women wearing Jeans

People somehow want to decide things for women for ages. Especially in Asian territory, people try to show a dominating nature by restricting others from doing something. Though there is a religious barrier if we keep that aside there is a very less valid point to argue. First of all, men and women should be able to decide for themselves in every aspect. If any woman finds jeans comfortable to wear, she has the right to wear them. Many may say that the material of jeans is hard which can harm the skin. But I sincerely oppose this fact. Being one of the largest RMG providers in the world, complaining about jeans material is ridiculous. There are many types of jeans that are super comfortable & fashionable. If anyone feels uncomfortable wearing denim, they can easily switch to bell bottoms or wide-leg jeans. Moreover, it is easier for women to move & complete any task wearing jeans. Secondly & most importantly, 50% or more officials are women nowadays, if you restrict them from wearing comfortable clothes by their choice their productivity will decrease which will heavily cost every industry & these are the small things that create larger impacts. The third & probably the most controversial one is about the abusers. Here clearly the word abuser refers to eve-teasers & sexual harassers. We need to get this straight an abuser is never intimidated by the clothes, it is their intention that makes them abuser. Nowadays, every country has laws against eve teasers & sexual abusers. Here proper application of the law is the main deal. If we stop victim blaming & start punishing the culprits with zero tolerance, issues like these will be solved overnight. Finally, I would agree with the fact that there is no harm in women wearing jeans. In a developing country like ours, we should concentrate on solving various problems, not creating new & meaningless ones. Mir Tanvir Haider-Volunteer-Genesis Foundation

Stay Alert, Stay Safe

There has been an alarming rise in the number of road accidents in Bangladesh over the last few years. According to the Bangladesh Road Safety Foundation’s (RSF) annual report, at least 6,284 people died, and 7,468 others were injured in road accidents between January and December 2021, compared to 5,431 people dead and 7,379 injured in road collisions. Reckless driving, overspeeding, forced overtaking, breaking traffic laws and a lack of public awareness are the main reasons for road accidents. Awareness on both sides is much needed to reduce the number of accidents and ensure a safe journey. Genesis Foundation is working on this issue under the campaign ” Stay alert, Stay Safe”.
